Fossil fuel prices instability, and availability have crippled some economies in the 1970's and are again reaching unprecedented levels in 2000. Fuel costs for natural gas; oil and propane have gone from $5.00 per giga joule or 1,000,000 BTUs in 1998, to highs of $25.00 in 2000. In comparison energy from Wood Pellet fuels have remained relatively stable, ranging from $5.00 per giga 1,000,000.00 BTU for large bulk sales to a high of $9.00 per giga joule for bagged home heating fuels. Wood pellets have the potential of off setting the high cost natural gas, oil or propane energy in large and small applications alike. |
